- the bug-eyed people pull Tally to shore
- they put her on the helicopter and give her oxygen
- they turn out to be pretties that are burning a kind of flower that kills everything around it
4.they drop her off at the "bald head" and the smokies come to pick her up
"...Tally was stuck out here in the wild forever. Ugly for life. Her only way home was to betray her friend."
Tally is having trouble deciding if she should do the right thing or not. She realizes how serious her situation is and what is going to happen to her if the plan fails.
